Personal injury attorney disappointed in Hawaii County Prosecuting Attorney’s decision to drop negligent injury charges.

Personal Injury Attorney Ian Mattoch is disappointed in Hawaii County Prosecutor’s announcement of the dropping of the negligent injury charge against Shakti Stream in connection with the 2010 car accident in Kona.  “We believe the facts more than justify prosecution. We cooperated extensively with the prosecutor’s office, providing them with relevant information.  Dr. Theresa Wang, her husband David Chen and our office are perplexed with this decision.”

Shakti Stream, the ex-girlfriend of the former quarterback from UH, Colt Brennan, was the driver of vehicle that crossed the center line of the Queen K Highway in Kona and struck head-on a Saab driven by Dr. Wang.

As a result of this accident, Dr. Wang sustained serious neck injury and fractures of all of her limbs.  Dr. Wang underwent months of rehabilitation on the mainland.  “She’s now walking, mostly without a cane, and the best part is she walks and she talks and she’s still Theresa,” said Chen.

“It’s kind of karma or a blessing for the other driver, and we hope that she takes it in the right way and takes it as a gift to improve her life,” Chen added.

The civil case continues in this matter.
